Broken Microphor toilet
The advantage of the Microphor is that it does not need to be _directly_ over the black water tank. Most RV toilets drop straight down into the tank. The Microphor, using air (or electric) assisted methods uses little water (about 2 quarts per flush) and may be positioned more conveniently with respect to the location of the black tank. This compares to the most common, newer home toilets that use nearly 7 quarts per flush.
As for replacing a Microphor, I understand it is possible to get a fairly complete "rebuild" kit that might be all that's needed to solve the problems Nelson is having. In a replacement toilet, the manual toilet would have to be directly above the black tank. If your coach does allow this kind of installation, then one of the other brands would work just fine. But if the pipe has _any_ sloping segments, then you will have to stay with a Microphor or some other brand (but probably expensive) toilet that allows offset installation.
