I think the "3" number is a bit of a stretch. In the 3+ years I've inhabited the various BB owner's lists, I've seen reports of 'birds being "parted out" that at least 4 or 5 havesuccumbedto that fate that have been mentioned online.
However, due to the long life and general ruggedness of the 'birds, I'm sure that the number still in operating condition is in the 95-98% bracket. Assuming that the number of 4000+ Wanderlodges were built, that would leave at least 3800 to 3900 on the road and assume that up to a couple hundred may be "non op" or otherwise out of service.
