The only time he posted was this initial post that he told about the closing of BB etc. Maybe this was the first he heard of it- maybe not. Whoever it was has since unsubscribed himself from the forum. Too bad- wish he would have signed his posts as directed in the Home Page when folks join and maybe not wear his feeling too much on the cuff.

I don't know, Ernie. I mean, I get what you're
saying, if someone joins the forum and apparently doesn't at least read a few
posts each day, to notice the biggest topic of the year, then we should get to
slap him around a little bit, make him step up to the plate, and teach him to
at least tune in enough to not make a big gaff on his first post. Give `em a
little tough love. Show `em that they're going need to be thick skinned. Let
`em know that this is a serious, high level, interest group that expects a
certain level of knowledge and involvement from it's members. But I wonder if
it is reasonable to expect all newby's to achieve that right off, and I wonder
if that's the best attitude to have for the forum. Our "description" of the
forum on the home page indicates that we try to welcome members a bit more than
that. I'd be curious to see if the membership numbers are growing or shrinking.
You say this guy just joined a month ago (and quit a day ago), but, first of
all, how would we know that, and, even if we did, we should respond to a huge
gaff or mistake the same way we would if it were the oldest and most seasoned
member. With a little forgiveness. Inclusion. The feeling people look for in a
group. That guy could've become the group's biggest guru/asset. "Another one gone" was an interesting subject name for this thread. What are
those membership numbers over the last few years?
