air bubbles????. the torque converter holds fluid that wont drain with a flush
alsothe transmission cooling device holds fluid. could be that the two (dino, synthetic) dont mix. even if they do mix when both are new. the old fluid may be different than what you think due to heat time ,additives, moisture etc. at idle there is less throw in the t/c and less slinging oil. The other possibility is in your post. (wrong filter was used) ( the tech screwed with a valve when removing the filter??)
