If you're talking Vanagon, both the Suburu six and turbo-four will
fit, adapters are readily available. In VW engines the 1.8 turbo fits, as does the VR6, but you'll need to fab an engine cover as they stick up a little. Around here the nearest guy with conversion experience and adapter parts is in Canada, not a long drive from the Detroit area.
