Valve stem extenders??
Steve:

Got the furnace motor, should be working today?

I use the valve extenders that make it just to the inside edge of the
outer wheel, and be sure they have a hex on each end so you can tighten
with a wrench, leave them there. Good ones work perfectly.

The rubber plug is also nice, Alcoa makes some, you will need slightly
longer extenders then.
