12v power for portable macerator pump

We have equipped a couple of coaches over the years with the Jabsco
macerator pump. It is very sensitive to voltage drop -- it really wants
at least 12 volts at the terminals, otherwise it stalls very easily. We
also strictly limit TP usage when we're going to use it (single ply
only, and try not to wad it up tightly when you toss). Running 10 gauge
wire from the batteries versus 14 gauge through a nearby circuit made
the difference in many cases between running or not. When first
installed, the coach or genset needed to be running (~14 volts at the
battery), now it works fine from a charged battery bank (12.3 - 12.8 V).
Cigarette lighter plugs are out -- too much resistance.

Now we are in the process of standardizing on a 12 volt outlet. The
solar house people use NEMA 6-15 plugs and outlets for 12V, we might use
those or 6-20. These look like regular 120 volt plugs but at least one
of the blades is sideways (intended for 240 volts).
