gen starter
Before worrying about getting to the starter, I have to say that the hammer and meter tricks need to be applied to insure that you really need to get the starter out. Is it the starter, solenoid or interface relay? Have you barfed a battery connection, or ground from the engine

Hi Bob,

Working on this Onan/Kubota is really difficult.

Most of the coolant hoses, starter,Alternator are on the opposite side.

The Onan is mounted to a steel tray, two bolts each side, Then there are cable connectors, exhaust, fuel lines and coolant hoses to disconnect to remove the entire unit. You may try to remove the front two bolts, loosen the rear bolts and try to tilt the generator forward using a floor jack. I have not tried this but it may give enough room to access the starter. Keeping in mind that there are many connections in the read.

Check the easy stuff first, like the battery, cables & grounds.
