Roof Air Output Temperature
That's right, Ralph.

Click on this link  http://www.rparts.com/Catalog/Major_Comp...valves.asp . Go down to the 5th picture "Schrader Valve"...this is what I've used in the past WHEN there is room to solder in one of these.

Our coach roof top ACs do not lend themselves to easy soldering of the Schrader Valves. I've opted to live with what is there, the Piercing Valves.

The valves you have in the lines should have been temp only. new valves
that are solder in should have been installed. This will stop the
refrigerant leakage.  The clamp on valves have a gasket on the inner
surfaces for a seal. It is very tenuous at best.

Our front roof air was blowing out
60 degree air. It's the original Dometic. After adding freon it's putting
out 45 degree COOL air. The other roof airs put out about the same COOL
air. I'm a happy camper.

I find that freon needs to be added about once a year to the front unit.
The other two units need freon every two to three years.

The front unit...the piercing valve lock down screws always need
tightening. The other units just need freon.

Guess I'm getting by pretty good with these old air conditioning units.

What temperatures are your units blowing? I keep thinking that I'm
overcharging the units but no issues so far other than adding freon.
