Shop air compressor wont put out more than 110 PSI

When the compressor is running and then cuts off, what does the pressure gauge right at the compressor say the pressure is then?  If it isn't 120+ at the tank when it cuts off then as someone else said you will need a new pressure switch (if the tank and motor can handle that pressure) or a new compressor if not.
