Antifreeze
Cat tests coolant samples for about $15. They supply sample bottles
just like the oil test bottles. The test analysis printout covers multiple properties and advises recommended levels, required additives and whether to replace the coolant. The explanation on the back of the printout states: For ELC (extended life coolant?) pH minimum is 7.0, maximum is 10.0, recommended is 7.5-9.5 with ideal 8.5. For DEAC (?) pH minimum is 8.5, maximum is 11.0, recommended is 8.5-10.5 with ideal 9.5. With level too low ferrous metals and solder will be attacked and with level too high aluminum will be attacked. --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Larry holland" > Hello Everyone, > > Does anyone know what the PH level should be for the antifreeze in > the > Cat. 3208?
