Leaking Dump valves??

Good Morning Folks. Had a rude awakening when I went to dump my tanks for the
first time yesterday afternoon. I had everything (I thought) in place, gloves
on ready for "the excitement" when I took the cap off and "stuff" started
flowing out before the open switch was flipped. There is some evidence of this
happening before as the wood is deteriorating somewhat in that bay. I did a
search here for "leaky" dump valves and came up dry Any words of wisdom for
the "new guy" on how to's, rebuild kits?, etc.....Thanks in advance!
