Been following this thread with some interest. To know how much power $386
represents, you need to know the electric rate.

If you were paying Washington State rates, $386 would represent around 150
kilowatts (KW) per day. If your rate is triple that of Washington ($0.25 per
KW) then $386 would represent around 50 KW per day.

Our 1500 sq ft house has two energy inputs: Electricity and firewood. The
electric consumption ranges between 40 KW per day and 100 KW per day depending
on how much electric heat or air conditioning we use.

So, if your local rate is around $0.25/KW then you may be using about the right
amount of power for a small electric powered "house". But if your local rate is
as low at $0.08/KW then you are probably looking for up to 100 KW/day of wasted
power.

There have been many good suggestions as to where you may be using excess power,
and they are all worth looking into. On the other hand it is good to remember
that these coaches were designed for original owners who probably did not take a
second look at their power bill.

electric bill for the month. We used a crazy amount of electricity. Our park
people told us a week ago to check things out.

We turned off the breaker for the upper flor. lights and that helped some. Then
we turned off another breaker that was labled in large red letters, "SURGE"...
there are two breakers with those red words on them. They do seem to be an
issue here. But now... we also found that the battery charger breaker is
pulling HUGE amounts of elec also. We can't leave it off or our batteries will
be sucked dry. When those breakers are OFF... the meter runs normally...

gotten to contact them yet. Someone used the RED marker to mark those
breakers... so SOMEONE knows something or at least was aware of the problems...

$386................ ouch!!! We can't keep affording that... sheesh...
