Suburban Furnace No Heat
Curt - I just replaced the center furnace in our FC with a NT16SE. This is the
front discharge model. If I had it to do over I would use the ducted model.
(The center FC furnace does not duct under the shower - that is the front
furnace.)

I re-used the original discharge duct that BB had attached to the furnace front
panel. It would have been easier to adapt the duct to the solid front panel of
the ducted model.

Other than the duct and some revisions to the propane inlet the job was easy.
Changing the propane fittings required pulling the new furnace out of its
housing. If you have enough space on the right side of the furnace you can use
the original fittings.

Also, BB cut away part of the furnace housing for clearance on the FC. I had to
duplicate the cut on the new one. This may not be an issue on the PT.

Frankly, if your firebox and flue are in good shape I'd fix the old one. A
dinasaur circuit board and new fan motor is about all it should take. The new
one is cheaply made and considerably noisier.

In fact, until the fan motor packed up, all I had to do to get heat from our old
one was to re-adjust the igniter gap once or twice. Its in the book.
