Leaking fitting on gen. fuel filter
Art, I believe that if your main engine is off, you should not have any problems changing the fitting on your generator fuel filter.

The generator shutdown I understand. What I'm asking for guidance on is how to change a leaking fitting in the generator primary fuel filter without having to drain the fuel tank. It is almost full.
Incidentaly, both filters were full of fuel when I removed them.

I noticed the out fitting on the primary filter was wet and leaking (could this be the cause of the shutdown?). I started to remove the line from the fitting and fuel started to flow out(I had a bucket underneath). Do I have to drain the fuel tank to remove that hose? Is there a shut-off from the main tank?
