toe heater in 2000 LXI
On the new heaters, Cadet added a manual reset thermal overload switchthat requires someone to manualy reset it, this isin order to make them aware that there is a problemand that the heater needs to be cleaned. On the recalled heaters the overload automatically reset when the heater cooled backdownand many times no one was ever aware that the heater was plugged. Ifsomeones heaters arn't going to be replacedthey should make surethey arecleaned regularly. I am going to add manual reset thermal overloads to my cadet heaters, they are available from Grainger.

There was a recall a few years back because they are fire hazards. Replacing them with the model recommended on the Cadet Mfg. Co. website is an easy fix. In fact so easy, even a lawyer could do it. |
