No, If I turn on the key and hit reverse it works ok, when I start the coach and
hit reverse the monitor goes blank. It's a touch pad shift so I doubt if there
is much movement.

questiorn, it sounds more like you are pulling on a connector enough to break
the connection when moving to the reverse position. You might try an ohm
meter at the cable that plugs into the "TV" screen end of the cable that goes
into the camera output, on the camera output end of the cable put a short. In
short, on the cable that carries the output of the camera put a short, where
that plugs into the TV put an ohm meter, if you loose continuity when shifting
into reverse and it returns in forward look for a work or loose connector on
that cable.
