Genny flexible exhaust
Alan,
I had a flex connector fail on the generator exhaust of my PT90 shortly after I purchased it in 1991. This was an "accordion" type about 10-12" long. I replaced it with two flex connectors, one where the original was and another on the pipe where it turned 90 degrees. The replacements had a stainless woven appearance. Doubling up seemed to do the trick. They were still fine when I sold the coach in 2001. Don Bradner has that coach now and can tell you if they are still holding. Rich D. The piece is about 12 inches long and is of course designed to absorb some of the vibration off the genset. But I'm tired of replacing that thing. > > Does anyone have a thought on what it would do to just replace the flex pipe with a solid pipe? I'm thinking the exhaust hangers would then just have to absorb any of the vibration. > > Thanks, > Alan Johnson > 87FC35 > |
