Rob/anyone that's taken apart roof mounted spotlight
WD40 is not a lubricant after 6 months in the heat and cold. It is a water displacement and surface cover. It will turn to wax and jam up your little motor again. WD40 is one of those never ending gotta spray new stuff things to keep it liquid. It is called WD because it is the 40th version of the formula for a water remover for surfaces. It only acts like lube until it gets hot, bakes out and turns to sludge. Use white lithium grease, or red lithium grease. Even that junk called "dielectric grease" which is the stupidest name for silicon grease. Why anyone would put that near electricity is beyond me but it makes great never hardening gear lube for little motors and stuff.

OK, it seems the original problem got fixed from the outside which still leaves the question of how to remove the headliner from the inside. I'm a newbie looking at used units. It looks to me like there may have been leaks since corrected, but the weight of wet insulation obeyed Newton's laws. How and where are the headliner panels attached? How easily can they be interchanged with various Wanderlodge vintages and models? Are they all the same color or different shades of white that I wouldn't see until they are side-by-side?
