We had our shower drain freeze in November on a trip to Omaha. Wound up putting a bottle of sulfuric acid drain cleaner down the drain which fixed it. (concentrated H2SO4 makes a LOT of heat when it dilutes in water) Hated to go the chemistry route but didn't really have other options it was about 9 degrees out at the time and lots of cold wind. After that the shower got a drip set to keep the drain warmed up...

Hi Wallace, 32 degrees up here in your hometown would feel very welcome. Maybe my house shower and drain would thaw~

Just in case you folks up north get to thinking that weon SPI have it too good; there is ice on the palm trees and sleet on the ground. The Queen Isabella causeway was closed last night due to black ice and will not reopen till it thaws; temp is now 32f. The expressway from Harlengen is closed in all directions, wrecks and black ice. Is supposed to be the 60's tomorrow; proof is in the seeing.
