1976 diesel F-29296
As I have one of the handful of prototypes built on a Jay Madsen pusher chassis, the engine compartment is cavernous and they had no trouble fitting a 555 in place of the Ford gas engine. They did have to cut a notch for the turbo, a small sheet metal box intrudes in the bedroom area for it.

What does it take to fit a 555 into a Bird that was set up for V8 engines? Some pictures of the engine area would be interesting.

The genset is taking more work as it is a gas unit in mine. Carb was all gummed up and still surges. Might need the carb replaced, but it does run and make volts.
