Need ice maker help
Hi Martha:
Remove the front grill cover (one screw) and set it aside and check the front of the condenser coils for a mat of hair, dust and so on, if there is no or limited air flow you will get what you describe. Be sure the fan on the back side of the condenser is running; Assuming , of course, the ice maker mold motor is at home detent. Does the compressor run? that will be the black looking large can style item on the right side and inset about 8 inches or so. CAUTION, be sure the power is switched off when removing the front grill and replacing it. Also remember the ice maker is a 120 vac unit, do not reach in only look with a flash light for the condenser fan running. Check those first and if you find it needs cleaning then try making ice once again. If not let us know and there are more steps to check.
