Bedroom AC Dying - Original equipment

Some of the old units have a “run”
capacitor on the blower motor. If the fan spins free try changing the
capacitor. They are a generic part.

Bedroom AC Dying - Original equipment

Howdy.

Our bedroom AC, 18 years old, is dying. The symptom is weird; the fan will turn
off when the compressor is running. It just STOPS. Jack will turn off the power
for a couple of minutes, then turn it back on and all is running again. ?? Our
understanding is that there are no parts for this old unit. A shame because the
compressor puts out good cold air. Ideas?
