Sluggish 8V92

I have a "1991 Bluebird Wanderlodge WB40" with a silver "8V92".

Lately it has become painfully slow at accelerating from a dead stop. It is
getting to the point of being unsafe to attempt to merge into traffic.

Once you get it rolling down the highway, it isn't so bad...I have no problems
maintaining 70mph.

Turbo boost will show a bit over 20 for a max, but when accelerating from a
stop, boost is less then 10, and the rpm's just don't want to rev up.

When it is first started, when cold, it does not sound as smooth as I thought it
used to.....almost like it has a slight mis. Seems to smooth out once it is
warm.

Bought it used with 160,000 miles, it now has a bit over 200,000 miles. The fuel
and air filters have been recently serviced, but I have no knowledge of any past
maintenance history.....so I don't know if there are other issues that need to
be looked at....ie: valve settings, fuel injectors, etc.

Has anyone else had this issue, or have any ideas at what I may need to check to
help resolve this problem?
