HWH LEVELERS GET REBUILT
I got here at HWH Corporation in MOSCOW, Iowa early this morning and
was told to just go straight in to bay #2, so that they could start working on my 'Birds levelers. The mechanic did a quick diagnosis, as he had seen this problem before with the fluid in the resivoir that looked like jelly, it was caused by mixing regular Hydraulic fluid with the automatic transmission fluid (DEXTRON 3) that they recommend using, he told me to NEVER USE REGULAR HYDRAULIC FLUID with these HWH levelers, as it will ruin the seals. The hydraulic fluid was already in the resivoir of my 'Bird when I got it. Two guys worked on the 'Bird from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and they removed and replaced after rebuilding, the pump, then flushed the whole system of there contaminated fluid, rebuilt and replaced the joy stick controls and the front jacks, the rear jacks were in real bad shape and were obsolete, so they were replaced with new units, all of the springs were also replaced, I haven't got the bill yet, but I will take care of that in the morning.
