RE: LXi and WideBody PTO/Pump Splines
Darrell,
When they start to develop excessive spline wear they vibrate and sound like a box of empty coke bottles. Get things nice an hot, put the coach in neutral with the parking brake set and walk back to the foot of the bed. Listen for clanging sounds. It's sufficient that they rattle like coke bottles but it isn't necessary; that is, they can be quiet and still have lots of spline wear. The best way to tell is to unbolt the unit and visually check. We've seen coaches with as little as 45K miles that have excessive spline wear. david brady, '02 Wanderlodge LXi 'Smokey' (Sold), '04 Prevost H3 Vantare 'SpongeBob' "I don't like being wrong, but I really hate being right" |
