US 2 In Montana and Idaho
Julie, well we have a 35' fc not a 40 ft'er but we have been across
Highway 2 from Seattle to Michigan, including several times across Montana. Highway 2 is a two lane road. It varies in road quality somewhat but basically never gets much better than where you are in Montana. Highway 2 is a main thouroughfare that truckers use. The notable curvy and narrow spots are: Montana- Happys Inn to Libby; Idaho- Sandpoint to Newport; and in Washington- from Levenworth to Goldbar. of course.... these are also the more senic sections of Highway 2. Two significant downhills on this route are from Waterman to Wenatchee Washinton and from the summit of Stevens Pass for about 2 miles to the west. Knowing that you folks are very experienced travelers I seriously doubt that you will have difficulty on this route.
