Need Help in Portland Oregon
If you dont mind will give you both a couple of ideas that I have always
used for my bluebird but on my cars etc. I use Eudora for my email software and I have mailboxes for every subsystem on my coach. For example transmissions, generator, alternator, suspension , generator, tires, shocks etc. Then when someone posts something that appears to be something I might need I transfer the email to that mailbox. I honestly have thousands of emails archived like that. I also have 4 blueboxes (actually the bluebox and 3 more black ones) full of technical information on every subsystem on my 1982 FC35. Have one with nothing but drawings from Bluebird for my coach annotated with the changes I have made to it. Also have made block diagrams of the starting circuits etc showing where the important fuses, check points etc are so if there is a problem I can quickly find it. Then others with file folders of technical information including how to troubleshoot and rebuild every part on my coach. Then I keep a small spiral ring notebook about 4" X 6" that has information on almost every part that I have worked on including part numbers and where I can obtain the new parts and how much. Then I have 5 plastic storage boxes about 18" X 10" with compartments with all of the little parts that I might need to repair what ever breaks when travelling. All of the plugs and pins for the dash, one of each relay in the coach, fuses, nuts and bolts etc. Never used any of it on the road yet in the 3 years I have driven the coach. I have bought the tools necessary to repair and rebuild my dash and keep a soldering iron, and a complete tool kit in the coach. I feel a lot better travelling knowing that I can troubleshoot and fix almost anything on it now. Just an idea you might find useful.
