Radiator Cap on 89 SP 36'
The other day I had the fill cap neck of the coolant fill tube fixed. It had
a bad spot in the lower ring that would let the coolant buy to the over
flow. It had been brazed before & it looked like it had been done at the
factory
as it didn't look like it had been taken out before. I took it to a rad shop
& had a new neck put in. It cost a whole five dollars to have done but then I
have given this shop two rad jobs in the last couple years. My question is
the old cap had a rubber seal on the bottom & a brass on top and the new one I
bought form NAPA had a rubber seal on the top & bottom. They are both 7# so
they are the same pressure. What is the differences between them? The new one
looks like it would not let any coolant out of the top& it fits a lot
tighter. The generator hat the same 7# cap on it with rubber only on the bottom
so
I don't think they had been changed. Which is the best cap?
