Muffler for my Generator??
Jack,
This may depend on the total length of the exhaust pipe. I had an Emerald 4.0 on my 5th wheel and the exhaust came out of the generator on the curb side and had a straight exhuast pipe with no muffler running the width of the trailer, exiting out from under it on the street side. This made the pipe almost 8 feet long. That thing was whisper quiet. If your total exhaust length is only a few feet, that might be the difference. I can also tell you from working with car exhaust that the further the muffler is from the engine, the better it works. If you have an 8 foot exhuast that's noisy, find a Honda muffler from a small Civic and put it at the end of the pipe. That should make it quiet.
