RE: Has anyone here chained up there bus to go into snow or ice conditions?
Hi
Now I can speak with some good information. My son-in-law was concerned so he got some of the "fabric" chains from Amazon. Not sure the brand so I do not want to mention one. Snow came at just the wrong time- a few inches on the road going up to his home. Not extremely steep - but enough that the LXi could not make the climb in the snow. We put on the fabric chains and as soon as we tried to move the fabric chains self destruct. I will be buying a set of regular chains or just not go to my daughters house again in the winter. We did enjoy Christmas with the family. On another hand - AAA was a total disaster. We called them and and they assured they would be there in about an hour. We keep calling back every hour and they kept the same story. After about 6-7 hours I called them again and they said that because of the size of my RV they could not get anyone to take the call. I wish they could have told me earlier. Needless to say I will probably be cancelling my AAA - RV Plus. I finally called Good Sam and they came when promised and got me to my daughters home. We left before New Years because snow was coming and we wanted to leave before the roads had more snow. I will be looking for chains and I like Good Sam. I would appreciate any input.
