Sporlan Valve??
Hi Steve:

Congrats on your Coach.

The unit where you hook up your shore water is actually a pressure
regulator and should seal like an anti back flow valve when shore water is
disconnected. I would replace the regulator. Now then, having said that,
you do not have to replace the whole housing, that is a major bear to get
to on a PT for sure. If you look at the regulator ( shore water input) you
should see 2 small holes 180 degrees from each other on both side of the
regulator. Using a large set of snap ring pliers you can unscrew the
innards of the regulator, then do the same on the new one and just screw
the new regulator back into the old housing, 10 minute job and done.

The Sporlan valve does get a build up on the diaphragm from time to time
and just needed to be taken apart, carefully and cleaned up. I use a pocket
knife to scrape the white build up off the diaphragm and re assemble. No
big thing really. Remove the coil on the top of the Sporlan valve, remove 4
screws and it is in your hand, be careful though, it is spring loaded so
remove the top of the valve slowly. Also pinch off the hose between the
valve and fresh water tank, no sense of having to mop up allot of water
while your doing this.

Safe travels,
