I guess I didn't realize the differences.... We come from the Sacramento Valley where we always have 6% grades to go anyplace out of the valley. To get back here requires crossing the Sierras and the Rockies. To us, these are just rolling hills. Got a suggestion - Look into installing propane injection. I put a Bully Dog high output unit on our GM converted bus and it made a BIG difference in climbing the hills. ATS also makes a unit though it is more expensive and complicated. If you do decide to try a Bully Dog, be sure to talk to Mike. The regular sales people will tell you it won't work. Mike invented the thing and I had it on a Cummins 903. A friend made his own using a solenoid and a welding gas regulator to control the propane. He lives in the Utah Rockies and swears by it. We will be leaving the Bird's Nest tomorrow and starting to head westward. Have to be in central CA by the 26th. will be checking in when we get online.
