Thank to those who have responded. The picture is still un clear to me
anyway, as to how the system works. I know that the high idle is part of
the air throttle system and when switched on at the dash, it opens a
solenoid and a metered amount of air brings the idle to 1000 RPM's give or
take. And when the high idle switch is on, there is no response form the
throttle pedal. So I can only conclude that the air from both, the foot
throttle and the high idle goes to the same solenoid and is selectable via
the switch.

There should be a transducer for the Allison as well that ties into this
circuit and that there has to be a transducer at the throttle on the 6v92
and 8v92. I have always assumed it was the silver looking cylinder about as
big around as your thumb and 5 to 6 inches long, located on the left side
of the throttle area. I have heard that the pin from this
transducer/cylinder can wear to the point of not pushing the bell crank on
the inside of that same area, but again this is purely speculative on my part.

So all in all, we still know, not very much about the system. Anyone know
who makes the air throttle on the Birds?

Safe travels,
