Fuel Filter & Pump

Hey Don, a couple of great responses to your question. Let me throw
in a couple of comments as well.

In a pinch and actually when changing the fuel filters what I do is
is use transmission fluid to fill the filter then start the main
engine. My Mechanic (who also reubilds injectors etc) has assured me
that this does not hinder the motor whatsoever and actually lubes the
injector pump. Since I carry some tranny fluid with me it works for
the roadside filter change as well.

In line with Bill's post I as well have a facet pump for the fuel
tank. (86FC) It actually became an issue on the new genny install
recently. The fuel line for the genset is actually "T"'d into the
main fuel line. We wired it to 12v from the genset when the genny
runs as well so that the fuel pump on the new PowerTech genny could
work properly. Now it runs when the genset is running so this could
fill the filter as well.. Just my .02 worth...
