Springdale Oh to Charleston SC
Hi folks,

What a pretty drive we had down through KY, TN, over into NC and then
finally to SC. It was just about 630 miles and we did it in two days, even
though
it could be done in one; we stopped in Williamsburg KY the first night,
whereas I had not gotten much sleep the day before, having had to work right up
until when we departed.

From Williamsburg KY down I-75 to Knoxville TN, I-40 over to Ashville NC it
is pretty hilly. But what a beautiful drive this time of the year. The
leaves were in peak in some areas and past peak in others, and even though it
rained part of the way it was still really enjoyable. Up some of those hills
at
25 mph, I was able to sight-see.

The drive was exceedingly tiring. I had not driving the coach for a year,
but had started it up every 3-4 weeks, ran it for a bit, checked things out
etc. But here is what made it even more tiring. Last spring we got rid of the
original seats, pilot and co-pilot and put in new FlexSteel ones. When I
got in to drive on Sunday, I thought I had shrunk. The seat adjusted in the
lowest position and my feet would not touch the floorboards, or hardly reach
the peddles. I really had to fiddle around with pillows and adjustments just
so I could drive. The only think I can figure out is, that these new seats
are probably two inches higher than my old ones. Unless someone has a better
solution, I am going to have to take the seats off the pedestal and cut about
2 inches off of it, because I simply refuse to drive with my feet dangling.

The cat puuuuuuuurred right along purrrrrrrrrrfectly. The smaller cat, the
one that purrs only for Ernie and Bim, does not like high altitudes and let
us know that above 1500 feet the pressure was too much for her ears.

Saw two birds, one on I-40 going West towing a white pick-up and the other
on I-26 headed North, both of these were on Monday. Neither were on Ch-19,
but maybe will see this post.

It is good to not have to be "watching things."
