Governor diagnosis
Hey all,
If anyone here can explain the function of the governor in relation to the air dryer specifically that's be great. I have three lines going to the governor on my Bluebird Q-bus. One big one, and then two smaller ones. One smaller line goes to the air dryer on the side of it. Does one line supply the air, build pressure up to the governed pressure, then open the other line of the governor to exert an air force onto the dryer? How does the governor manage to shut the compressor off? The reason I ask is b/c my compressor is seemingly constantly pumping. The air dryer seems to be doing it's job by releasing the air, and that seems to be the only time I don't hear the compressor running, right when the air ejects. It's very annoying to have it pop off the air pressure every 15-20 sec on the interstate. However the dryer doesn't seem to stick open. It pops off and then hushes right up, it just seems I keep building and building air pressure and the only reason I can think of why is b/c the compressor is never shutting off. thanks, Steve 2 '98 Bluebird QBRE Partybuses |
