Starting Batteries
Bill What brand is your starting batteries? I have the 6 volt 135
Trojans in the coach & like them but wanted to get different batteries than the golf cart for the starter. I agree on the dual purpose never does either very well. Don 89 SP 36' Butler, PA I have four 12V dual purpose, deep cycle/start marine batteries in the left front bay ( anything dual purpose never does either very well). There is a big truck/bus start battery, I think it is called a 4D or 8D in the right front bay, ( 970cca). All batteries are tied together. These batteries are about 3+ years old. They work OK, But, This arrangement does not hold up very well for dry camping. Next season I will replace all with 6 volt Trojans. The gennie battery is isolated with its' with own alternator and ability to charge from the battery charger. The auxilary battery switch adds the gennie battery to the circuit to help start the Cat or the gennie.
