estimated cost for repairs
Hi Mike:
The '85 FC is a good coach. Need to check the power to the master switch for the HWH jacks. That switch enables the solenoid that is located to the front of the entry step under the coach. There are fuses (or at least there was in my '85FC) for the drive line retarder located in the main control box located just above the retarder proper. Also need to check the power from the retarder switch. Seems like both power enables to those switches go through "C" plug under the dash then on to the cb's and conversely to the enable solenoids. Those cb's are located behind the drivers front head light. Power steering pump I had rebuilt, not sure but in the neighborhood of 95.00. Ah, also check the bolts to the steering box and tighten them, bet a nickle they are lose as well. The ac covers, depends on what brand,, probably Brisk airs. Some are still available. I had some of those ok to drive local tires, then promptly had 2 blow outs. Tires are expensive but in the long run, cheap insurance, because these tires can take out wheel wells. Good luck with her. If I can help let me know.
