oil leak
Don,
I had a '78 FC with a power steering leak that came out of the top seal
where the steering input shaft went in. I was able to pull the steering wheel up
and replace the seal. It dripped down where it was almost impossible to see, but
when I pulled the cover off the steering wheel shaft, the insulation padding was
soaked. One of those "Oh No" clues!

Thanks Stephen and Dan.

I checked the power steering and leveling hoses the connections are
dry and also the hoses except where the oil has driped from the
wires onto them. Same with the steering gear box. It's hard to tell
for sure where the leak is originating, but it almost looks like
most of the oil shows up where that big bundle of wires goes through
the floor under the dash. This may be from wind pressure forcing the
oil up the raceway. After looking closer at the oil that has
collected on some of the wires I would say it is motor oil. Again
thanks for the suggestions.
