6V Batteries?
The reason for the four 6V batteries is amp-hours. More useable amp-
hours in those four deep-cycle 6V batteries than in two 12v batteries. Many opinions on battery quality, and whether the better/best are worth the extra money. Leave any of them dead for long enough and you'll be scrapping them, so IMO unless you use the coach full-time and will be needing lots of boondocking capability, go with middle-of- the-road quality flooded-cell GC-6 batteries. The bigger part of the formula in my experience has been the charger. A good 3-stage charger such as you'll find in a good inverter/charger or the Tru-Charge will give you more useable amp-hours and more battery life by far than the original battery-boilers or any cheaper charger/converter. - Jeff Miller in Holland, MI --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Scott Forman" <sforman@r...> wrote: > > What is the reason my bird has four 6-volt batteries rather than two 12- > volt ones? Two 12v's would be lighter and take up less space.
