Landing Lights - 1993 WLWB
Brian there has been some good info on these lights and their replacement
recently. A search might give you what you want. In the meantime let me tell
you how I removed mine. Don't mess with the painted screws. You can remove both
the light and the rubber boot by removing the four screws that go through the
rubber. This is what I did. I may be wrong but I think someone else just
removed the light by prying it out of the rubber boot. Someone will chime in on
this I'm sure. The four spring loaded screws I removed originally went into the
back of the water proof plastic housing which houses both the boot and the
light. The brass knurled inserts in the plastic housing were all corroded and
had lost their grip in the plastic. I had to reach into the wheel well and hold
the inserts with pliers to remove the screws. When I replaced the screws and
brass threaded inserts I used SS nuts and bolts. I water proofed the back of
each SS nut with some butyl. If I was to do it again I would ask around to see
if anyone has experience at just prying the light out. The light is a sealed
beam and not cheap as I recall. Took an old one to NAPA and they ordered it in
for next day delivery. Hope this helps.
