Dave,

The 36' SP's had 300hp 3208 Cat powerplants. The Cat is adequate
for most terrain but some consider it underpowered for use in the
mountains.

The ZF transmissions are quality units but qualified service is more
difficult to find than for Allisons. This topic was discussed recently
on another forum:
