Roof walkways

I would reccomend option Number 2, Brian -- remove screws and
replace with stainless and sealer. I say this because your Bird is
a '93. I believe your decking is diamond plate, and should last a
life time without requiring any maintanice.

My Bird' is a '78 and the decking material is galvenized metal,
which requires repainting when the old paint starts to peel off.

There is no way that you need to replace the rubber runners! My
rubber runners are 28 years old and are still in excellent
condition. I plan to repaint the galvanized decking, probably with
Rino Coating for pick up truck beds, and replace all fasteners with
stainless.

The original paint is starting to peel. However, after inspecting
the rubber runners, I will leave them in place -- they are
structually sound and perfectly functional.
