Zero Turbo Boost
Steve,
Here is what I know about our Bird. Our's is the queen island bed. To
gain access to the front of the engine, the mattress has to be lifted,
boards removed, and then a double plate about 18" square, has to be
removed. Lots of screws and sealant. Heavy too, but all comes out as one
unit when the screws and sealant are out of the way. The hex bolts
through the plate are to hold the double plates together. Do not remove
them. Use a hack saw blade to cut through the sealant. Use sealant when
reassembling.

I'm not familiar with the twin bed arrangement. But I checked a '86 PT38
on BirdConnection. Looks like that center drawer between the beds comes
out. The access hole/plate might be under the drawer on top of the base
that the center drawer sits on. That is the position of the access
hole/plate in our Bird.

Good luck.
