Oil temperature running high.
Hello,

This is a post that I posed on another wanderlodge forum. Trying to
get as much input and help as I can while my coach is in the shop.

Asking some questions while my coach is getting the complete service
treatment. When I drive the coach, the oil temperature readout gets
me nervous as it approaches and hangs around the 230 tick mark on
the guage (outside temp about 65 degrees). The coolent temperature
stays between 190-200 which appears normal. I am afraid that if I
were to go up a steep hill that the oil temp. would easily go higher
unless I baby it up the hill.

I am having the oil and filters changed as well as the cooling
system flushed and refilled. I asked the DD shop to check to see if
they could determine a problem with the oil cooler but they do not
see anything. They said that the cooling system appeared normal too
when they flushed it.

One observation from the shop manager was concerning the position of
the oil temperature sensor which is located on top of or very near
an oil filter. He said his experience is the oil temp sensor is
normally in the pan. He thought maybe the position of the temp.
sensor might cause the high readout. He also said the temp. guage
itself may be off.

Anyone have any thoughts or observations about this high oil temp.
readout? Anything that I could have them check into concerning it
while they have it in the shop today and tomorrow.

Thanks!
