Master Switches

BlueBird would pretty much do anything you asked in those days, so
they could have added the switch in the battery compartment, but it
is not a common item and was likely added later.

If it disconnects the batteries entirely, it is then disconnecting
them from the charger. If your coach is plugged in, I would leave the
battery switches on, no reason to disconnect if you're keeping the
chargers plugged in.

One method that several of us use on those years, if the chargers are
the original gray-steel-enclosure types, is to unplug the chargers in
the bay, verify that the one you're going to use works (not just
hums, but charges), and plug just the charger into a timer to run the
charger a couple of hours each night. Main battery shutoff under the
dash in the OFF position. This method avoids having the freeze
heaters etc. in the coach cycle etc., protects it better from
potential spikes, but keeps the batteries topped up.
