Correct Coach Battery Wiring
Hello all-
I did verify-- My charger does work-- but only when I start my Gen... Not sure, when plugged up to 30A at the house, does not charge.. Maybe because not 50A? -- I think Im going to look into what Bruce was talking about with the Xantrex... however- I need to make sure that my coach batterys are hooked up correctly in "series-parallel" as the manual says. Does anyone have a diagram or drawing of the correct hookup of these Four 6 Volt Batteries? I understand the series hookup to make the 2 6 volts to 12 Volts, and the parallel to make the 2-12's double capacity... Three wires are 3 GROUND connections to the bus frame, 2 POSITIVE going to another part of the frame(a terminal block it looks like) and 1 thick Positive running back to the Center/rear along the frame (maybe to the charger?) and 1 smaller red one running to under the couch to the terminal under there. Then there is a small silver-receptical looking box beside; mounted on the wall with 4 wires running out, all taped together, they are all cracked, and hard (got hot?) maybe that is (or was) the battery heater I was thinking that maybe one of my charging/ battery problems was the way the previous owner had this rats nest of battteries connected up. Any help would be appriciated. Thank you. Stephen 81 FC-33SB Plant City,Fl |
