Toilet questions
Hello Scott:
I had exactly the same problem with my thetford, was out on a multi
month trip in the boonies and the odor getting to me, I almost
bought a replacement toilet until when I figured out that some paper
had gotten wedged in the seal cavity, I mean REALLY jammed as I had
done my best to fully close knife seal by pulling UP on the peddle
many times over several weeks - (I don't recommend you try this
technique Smile ). I tried a paper clip, right angle pick, Allen
wrench and about a dozen other items to clear it. Finally ran into
a RV place that had a thetford tool, its a long screwdriver with the
end bent on a 90 deg angle. It was ridiculously expensive but I
negotiated to $15.00 (I don't think the guy had sold another one all
year, most everybody makes there own) and had the paper cleared from
the groove in minutes - the toilet has worked 100% for 2 years -
LOTS cheaper and less mess than a new toilet! I hope your problem
is a simple to solve.
