updateing a Foward Control Bird

Jim I have a 1982 FC35 ( I will have it up for sale after I get the
PT 40 here)and my wife wanted a lighter interior in it also. The new
dinette is an egg shell white almost a very light grey pleather. The
two front couches were going to be reupholstered in a light leather
but at the last minute my wife decided on a very expensive upholstery
fabric that has a pattern on it. They turned out very nice and were
professionally done here. The curtins are a light tan, and the two
front driver and passenger seats are Villa light grey leather seats.
Its really difficult to lighten the interior up since the bath
module, kitchen and closets are a brown formica. If I were going to
keep the coach I was going to cover the formica with wood veneer in a
very light wood.I just finished doing our kitchen cabinets with Red
oak veneer and a cabinet maker did the rest with solid wood doors,
drawers etc. I have worked with this veneeri before and its
surprisingly easy and very durable. The veneers with 3M contact
cement on the paper back is really tough and if applied properly is
almost

so tough that once I apply it to wood and it sits for a few minutes
you have to destroy the wood to remove the veneer. There is a
special technique to putting it on although you can just peel the
paper off the back and put it on. But there are a couple of trade
secrets to really making it stick and be able to bend the veneer
around 90 degree corners without it splitting. I am thinking
seriously about doing veneering all of the laminate in the PT40 I just bought.
